How to switch to a professional Instagram account

Not too long ago, Instagram rolled out a new update which made it possible for its users to change their Instagram account to a professional account. Switching your account from personal to professional gives you loads of benefits. Some of the benefits are: you will be taken more serious, you have access to analytics, you can add links to your Instagram stories, you can schedule posts via Facebook creator studio & you can tag products of your webshop in your posts.

So how do I switch from a personal account to a professional account?

Step 1. Go to your settings
Open your Instagram app, go to your profile, tap the settings button & then tap account to get started.

Step 2. Switch!
Once you navigated to the accounts settings, there’s an option “switch to professional account”, click on it!

Step 3. Make a choice between creator & business
This one pretty much explains itself. Are you a public figure, content producer, artist or influencer? Choose for a creator account. Is it your business account? Choose the business option.

Step 4. Connect to your Facebook page
This option is not necessary, but it can be helpful if you plan to crosspost your content on your Facebook page. Choose your Facebook page & connect it here.
